イギリス北部の人気サーキットRobin Hood Racewayにて、BRCAのアウトドアシーズンが始まりました。

Robin Hood Racewayは2015年、および来る2020年に欧州チャンピオンシップが開催される英国でも有数な100%人工芝トラックで、下地はコンクリートで固めてある、非常に楽しめるコースです。芝目に残る砂地の状況がレースが進むにつれてグリップ具合が変わってゆく状況で、今回のレースでは英国特有の移り気な天候もレースへの影響が大きく、4WDクラスでその状況に翻弄される結果となりました。

We started our outdoor National season at the hugely popular venue in the North of England, Robin Hood Raceway. The hosts of the 2015 and upcoming 2020 European championships never fail to put on a fantastic event and is the premier RC track in the UK.

The ‘RHR’ track is 100% Astro turf with concrete curbing and fire hose piping which create demanding but enjoyable layouts. The Astro turf is filled with sand from its previous life as games pitches and normally as the day moves forward the track changes grip levels due to the sand making an appearance as more and more cars run on the surface. Then of course we have our ever changing English weather which came into play during the 4wd event!

チームYokomo / Nemo Racingは、現場において素晴らしいピットエリアを準備し、サポートバンにはスペアパーツを潤沢に揃えて英国での主要なレースに参加しております。

Lee Martin、Tom Cockerill、Paul Cromptonの各選手、そして英国のチームマネージャMark Rumbleが帯同し、ヨコモ車をドライブするユーザーのガイダンス・サポートを担当いたします。

Team Yokomo / Nemo Racing have been working to provide the best support to our racers and do so by providing a fantastic pit area and travelling support van which will be attending all of the major races! Adding to that is the support and guidance of Lee Martin, Tom Cockerill, Paul Crompton and UK team manager, Mark Rumble.

レーシング –  2WD

チーム全体の努力により、予選結果は素晴らしいものとなりました。 ヨコモは3名のドライバーがトップ5入り。Aメインの中でヨコモドライバが最大数を占めました。 エントリー総数は120名でしたが、ヨコモチームの予選結果は以下のとおりです。

チームメンバー相互の応援の甲斐あって、いくつかの良い結果をもたらしました！　特にリーマーティンはYZ-2CAL2を操り、Aメインの第一ラウンド、第三ラウンドでトップゴールを果たし、総合優勝をもたらしました。さらにトム・コッカリール選手は総合3位で表彰台に乗り、ポール・クロンプトン選手も予選順位をキープして5位となりました。

その他の勝者は、何といっても電気トラブルを抱えて苦戦したマーク・アンソニー・ジョーンズ、残念ながら完走を果たすことは出来ませんでした。 クリス・グリーンとヤシルは、それぞれのメインで2位を獲得。クリス・パティンソンは最近ヨコモに乗り換えましたが、これまでで最高の結果を得ました。

Racing – 2wd.

After qualifying was concluded, we had some very strong results throughout the team. Yokomo / Nemo had 3 drivers inside the top 5, which also meant that Yokomo had the most drivers in the A main. 120 drivers (maximum entry) attend our events and the Yokomo / Nemo Racing team qualifying results are below:

We love cheering on a good final for our team members and it pushed on some good results! Notably Lee Martin would take his Yokomo YZ-2CAL2 powered by scorpion to the overall win by winning leg 1 & 3. Tom Cockerill would take 3rd overall and Paul Crompton would take home 5th.

Our other final winners were Mark Anthony Jones, but that was to be expected after having electric problems all day and not completing a run. Chris Green and Yasir both got 2nd place in their finals while Chris Pattinson got his best ever national result after recently switching to Yokomo, showing the pace of our package!

レーシング –  4WD

4WDレーストラックは非常にはやくハイスピードレイアウトで、ミス無く走行を続けることが難しいものとなりました。リー・マーティンはTQ争いを最後まで演じましたが、最後の予選ラウンドは雨に見舞われTQ獲得にいたらず2位となりました。予選結果は以下の通りです。

決勝は雨の影響を受けウェット路面となりましたが、リーのYZ-4SFは非常に良好な走りを見せ決勝第一レグではトップゴール、第二レグでは走行ラインに関するペナルティーを受けた影響で第2位、第三レグはトップタイムを計測するものの第２位に終わり最終結果として総合2位を獲得しました。

今回のレースは素晴らしい結果をもたらしましたが、秀でたメンバーによるチームワークによるところが大きく、Team Yokomo/Nemoレーシングのサポートは素晴らしく、チーム主催のバーベキューも一体感を増す要素となりました、あえて述べるとすれば唯一の改善課題は「天候」でした。

Racing – 4wd

The 4wd track was fast and very difficult to complete clean runs. Lee Martin was in the battle to TQ and going into the last round, he would need to win to take the top spot. This chance was taken away from him due to it raining just as he started his race and with the other drivers having completed their runs, Lee would start second. Qualifying positions were as follows:

66th – Chris Green
69th – Richard Gasson

Special mention here to Chris Pattinson, who completely smashed his best finish from yesterday. Really settling into his Yokomo rides quickly! Also to Mark Anthony Jones who put a bad day behind him to get a good result on the Sunday.

The finals were rain affected and in the wet run, Lee’s YZ-4SF was very good and would get him the leg win. Lee would get a 2nd in leg 2 after a lunge for the line resulted in a penalty and would move him back to second. Leg 3 would not go to plan and although Lee posted the fastest lap, it would not be enough and he would have to settle for 2nd, tied for 1st.

All in all it was a fantastic weekend. A great team and some great team work. The support from Nemo was top notch, a team BBQ and some best ever results, the only thing that could have been better was the weather!!!
