The 2018 JConcepts Carpet Nationals were held this past weekend at NW Hobbies in Albany, Oregon. Over the past couple of years in the northwest, this area has became very well known as the leader in the use of artificial surfaces. What better place to have a race of this magnitude than at one of the original pioneers being NW Hobbies. Yokomo would be very well represented at this inaugural race with current 2wd & 4wd World Champion Ryan Maifield, USA Team Manager Joe Pillars, Tanner Day, Brandon Foote, Chad Eubanks, Thomas Tran, Mo Hille, and Shawn Stuart.
In the 4wd Modified Buggy class, Yokomo’s Ryan Maifield dominated qualifying by TQ’ing all 3 rounds to take the overall TQ honors. Also making the A-Main for Yokomo was young Oregon talent Brandon Foote, Tanner Day, and USA Team Manager Joe Pillars to make up half of the 8 car field. Maifield continued his dominance by Winning A-Mains #1 & #2 with his YZ-4 SF to take the 4wd Modified Buggy Title for the weekend! Yokomo’s Brandon Foote was very impressive in the A-Main events and would go onto finish 3rd overall and on the podium with his YZ-4 SF!
